Casa Rural El Olivar B&B

Christian has put several years into making this first-class B&B in the hills above Iznahar. We especially liked the lovely casita with its own kitchen, the tasty breakfast on the community patio, and the beautiful infinity pool. It feels like somewhere from a travel magazine. Between Córdoba and Granada, it was a perfect spot to catch our breath before heading to the next historic city. We only wish we could’ve stayed longer.

The place has just five rooms, so it won’t get overcrowded, but you’ll probably need to book well ahead for the main season. We couldn’t stay long enough to try one of the dinner menus Christian serves twice a week. Based on the rest of our experience, I’m guessing it would’ve been totally worth it. This is a perfect hideaway. The house and garden are beautiful, the view is spectacular, and Christian is a great host. Breakfast is included and very good, and there’s a well-equipped kitchen to use. A fridge is stocked with beer, wine, water and soda. Beer, water and soda are 1€, wine a little more. It’s probably one of the most beautiful B&Bs I’ve ever stayed in.

The breakfasts made with local products were delicious, served with an incredible lake view, and the fresh orange juice was probably the best ever. Every detail shows Alexander’s experience and taste, from the super comfortable beds and pillows to the beautiful interiors and stylish pool furniture. El Olivar feels special and intimate, with authentic Andalusian charm and a high level of comfort. Alexander is a fantastic host who makes guests feel like friends while giving them privacy and space. There’s a fully equipped kitchen, a gas barbecue and an honesty bar. It’s hard to leave, even with all the beautiful white villages of Andalusia nearby to explore. Thank you, Alexandr, for the warm hospitality and flexibility with check out time.
