Condestable Iranzo

The front desk staff were nice, which is the only reason I gave two stars. I stayed one night and checked out two days early because the rooms were poor, with no sound insulation at all. You can hear everything the neighbors do. The AC didn’t work, the room was very hot, and with the window open it was loud outside. The shower kept switching from hot to cold. Breakfast had nice orange juice, but everything else was low quality. They wouldn’t refund the unused nights. I wouldn’t stay again.

The pool area is modern and nice, and it’s an easy place to reach, close to the main bus stop and train station. Staff were friendly, though the hotel feels dated and past its best. Communication between reception and the Restaurant was poor. At check-in we were told we could order from the English Bar, so we stayed in instead of looking for food, only to find it closed for an event with no one telling us. The next day, reception again said food was available, but the Restaurant said they couldn’t serve us because they were working on a big event. When the hotel is full and events are happening, the elevator takes ages. It was okay overall.

The room was unbearably hot even with the heating off, in the middle of winter. Noise insulation was basically nonexistent. We could hear the road, the hallway, everything from other rooms, and our neighbors’ toilet flush sounded like a rocket launch. The hotel is old and dated, and this was a very bad stay if you want decent comfort and a good night’s sleep. I’d strongly avoid it.

The rooms are big and the location is good. We enjoyed our stay.
