The rooms are a little dated, but that adds to the character of this unique hotel and restaurant. I’ve travelled quite a bit, and I’d never had dinner and breakfast with a castle and spectacular mountains right there in the view. The food is superb in quality, quantity, and flavour, though it comes at a price and feels well worth it. The staff are kind, friendly, and accommodating.

We were here with friends on our Spain motorbike tour on 7/8 June. The views from this peaceful spot are absolutely stunning. Rooms are simple but have what you need, and they were very clean and tidy. The creaky floorboards could wake anyone, though they do add character. Staff were lovely and helpful.

What stayed with me most was how caring the whole team felt. This family-run hotel has a lovely spirit, and it was a special first experience of Spanish people for me. The staff made me feel welcome from the start, with warmth and genuine hospitality. Aurora deserves a special thank you for telling me the best places to visit around the area. Ask this lovely, polite woman where to go. Santiago was also a real pleasure to talk with. He’s a great and charming guy, and I found him a friend who supported me on my travels. He was always helpful, with good advice and restaurant tips. I was told he’s the best sommelier in northern Spain. Thanks as well to all the cheerful, calm waiters, especially Cristina, for the amazing job. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, with thoughtful details that made for a cozy place to rest after exploring the city. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, so it feels peaceful and relaxing, while public transport nearby made popular sights easy to reach. There’s no restaurant on site, but the staff gladly suggested nearby places serving local food, and I enjoyed every recommendation. I wholeheartedly recommend this family-owned hotel for its personal service, charm, and convenient location. Thanks to everyone who looks after the guests. You’re a special, lovely team, and you can feel that Hotel Xabier is a family business. I can’t wait to come back and make more memories here.

We used the hotel to split up a long drive, and it was very good value. The rooms look a little old and tired, but everything worked fine for the price. Breakfast was decent and very cheap. The best part was the friendly, helpful service, and the surroundings are pleasant for a walk. I think dogs are allowed, since there was one staying there during our visit.
