Barceló Jerez Montecastillo & Convention Center

The rooms, the food, the staff, the whole place, it all felt just right. I got the rest I needed, which is what makes a hotel stay great for me. We had a lovely time and will definitely be back soon.

We felt completely ripped off, especially after seeing the good reviews. The hotel was so unwelcoming that we'd never stay with this chain again. We were moved to another hotel without any warning and given a small room. The pool was freezing and dirty, and the green areas were filthy too, so neither was usable. They said the indoor children's play area was closed for the season, even though it was May. When my child played on the grass outside, staff yelled at them. The receptionists were very unprofessional, talking about us right in front of us because they thought we wouldn't understand Spanish. The restaurant staff, at least, were kind. The room soundproofing was awful and we couldn't sleep properly.

We were there for an event, not an overnight stay, and it was a beautiful, tasteful place to hold one. The whole evening was a great experience. I'm gluten intolerant, and the staff went out of their way to bring me amazing gluten-free food, so I was full and didn't need the snacks I'd brought. They checked in often to see if I needed anything. Water and wine glasses stayed topped up, and our area was cleaned quickly. Everyone working there before, during and after the event was amazing. The venue and bathrooms were very clean too. A great place to host an event.

The room needs some maintenance, and noise comes through because there's no insulation. Still, it was clean, as were the sheets and towels. Breakfast was really good, with loads of choice, and the outdoor space has an amazing golf view. The hotel itself is very nice, but the service doesn't feel five-star when you have to ask for everything, including slippers and a shaving kit.
