Hotel Carlos V Jerez by Vivere Stays

Getting around was easy, though finding the car park took some effort. You need to ask staff to open the gate, and they were happy to point us in the right direction. The hotel is near central Jerez, where the sherry is made, and Rota beach is within reach if you have a rental car. Our room was clean and roomy enough for three. The double bed was two singles pushed together. Staff can communicate in English, though they aren't fluent. There were a few people smoking downstairs by the bar and restaurant.

The basic breakfast and very thin walls made the two-star rating pretty clear. We could hear what was going on in other rooms and downstairs, and the staff didn't speak English. They were nice, though. For a reasonably priced hotel with parking in a central spot, it's almost ideal.

We didn't try the food, so I can't say what it's like. Drinks and snacks were reasonably priced, and the staff were really friendly. We came for a Flamenco show and it was one of the best we saw on our Jerez trip. Different singers and musicians performed over two hours, including a flautist. Definitely worth seeing.

I've stayed here twice and have been happy with both the rooms and the service. The location is handy for the city centre, train station and other main sights. My one gripe is that the Wi-Fi signal in the rooms is a bit weak.
