Jerez AQ35 Hotel

The staff are what make this hotel stand out for us. Everyone is professional, kind and knowledgeable, and the reception team speak good English if you're not confident in Spanish. The bearded guy at reception is especially charming and helpful. We love the location, parking, pool, pool bar, breakfasts and restaurant, all of really good quality. It's our go-to in Jerez. This time and last time, we booked a pool-view room with a little terrace. Some rooms overlooking the car park are a bit dated.

The staff are amazing and the facilities are very good. It's a great hotel, and especially well priced on motorcycle event weekends.

Our room had direct access to the pool, looked recently refurbished and was spotless. The pool area is lovely and relaxing, though there wasn't much afternoon shade and a movable parasol by our room would've helped. Breakfast offered plenty of hot and cold choices, and we really enjoyed the half-board menu for its quality and selection. It's easy to reach by car, with free parking, and a flat walk of about 20 minutes takes you to Jerez town centre. This was our third visit, but our first summer stay with the pool open, and that really added to the experience. Already looking forward to coming back.

We stayed for six nights. The rooms and large pool were clean and spacious, the pool stayed open quite late, parking was free and I always found a space. Staff were friendly. The hotel is a little old and could do with renovation, though the price was OK. I don't regret choosing it, but I'd give it 3 stars rather than 4, and it may not suit everyone. There are a few things to bear in mind. Wi-Fi was extremely bad: the complicated login usually froze, and even when I got connected, the internet was slow or unusable. That happened on both my Android phone and iPad, and I couldn't stream to the TV even though it supported streaming. There weren't enough sunbeds, even before high season. In the afternoons, people were already sitting on the grass. The rooms aren't soundproof, so hallway noise carries. Groups and families with children meant running and screaming from early morning to late at night. For some reason I was given a connecting room, and I could hear everything my 'neigbours' said and did through the thin connecting doors. Bring earplugs. Breakfast was OK, but too expensive for what you get. The hotel is farther from the city centre than I expected. There are no buses to the historic centre, only to the station. I didn't eat at the restaurant, so I can't comment on it. There's no hotel bar once the pool bar closes. EDIT: I don't know where the bus stop supposedly two minutes from the hotel is. I couldn't find it on any map or online. The nearest existing stop is at Plaza del Caballo, almost a 10-minute walk away. It only has buses to the train station, not the historic centre, so it doesn't help. Please don't spread misinformation.
