We tried several times to get in touch with the owner, but couldn’t reach her at all. Our stay at Casa Rural Valle del Jerte was quite negative: the accommodation was extremely dirty and completely neglected. It’s unbelievable they charged what they did for service in such unsanitary conditions.

Each room has its own bathroom, and there’s also a room for disabled guests. The accommodation is spacious and has lovely views. Getting there is straightforward, and you can easily walk to the village.

We had a wonderful few days here. Everything was very clean, and the receptionist was really friendly and gave us good advice. The spacious, peaceful house had two bedrooms and a porch overlooking the valley. The windows had mosquito nets, which was very welcome in summer.

Several families spent a weekend in the Jerte Valley, but I wouldn’t recommend this house for children, or really in general. The garden had junk and broken appliances that were extremely dangerous for kids, and there was no safety fence around the pool. The beds were secured with padlocks, so we couldn’t remove the mattresses, which we needed to do so our children wouldn’t fall off. The kitchen supplies were lacking too: very few glasses and cups for breakfast, no dish soap, and no filters in the coffee maker. When we called the owner, she told us to go to the spa. The house is in an industrial park, with road noise and noise from the adjacent truck park. If you sleep with the windows open, watch out: the screens are broken and mosquitoes will get in. You know how a thoughtful host can make you feel at home? That wasn’t the case here. The Jerte Valley is definitely worth visiting, but I’d choose another house.

It’s good for large groups: all the rooms are the same, with an en-suite bathroom, and there’s no noise. There’s a pool, parking, a small park, and a playground near the river. It feels more like a small hotel than a typical renovated old house. The building is an industrial warehouse refurbished to imitate a rustic feel. A few minor improvements could be made, but overall it’s very good.
