Hospederia Valle del Jerte

The dining hall has superb views across the valley, and lunch was amazing and very affordable if you choose the set menu. Breakfast was okay. We were upgraded to a larger room overlooking the river, which made our stay memorable; it was very quiet, and the 180cm x200cm bed was comfortable. The service was excellent, and you can store a bike near reception. The hotel is in the heart of the jerte valley. A couple of downsides: the tesla destination charger wasn’t working, and the transparent bathroom wall made the room very bright when it was in use.

The pool itself is great, but the terrace looks like a parking lot. The carpet has lots of large stains and needs replacing, as do the poolside sunscreens: there are only three, and two are broken. The breakfast staff need training. They weren’t efficient or customer friendly, and having to ask three times for something was frustrating when only four tables were occupied. The receptionist was the exception; she was nice. The place could be great, but it isn’t there yet. The rooms feel like a dentist’s waiting room. They should hire a professional to redecorate, avoid 3000-kelvin lights in the rooms, turn off the horrible music, and add some accessories.

Everyone was very friendly. I’d happily stay here again! 😊
