The house had the basics, and we still had a good time, but the condition of the furnishings needs a lot of work for what they charge per day. The sofa bed was broken, the bunk beds had been patched up, and the mattresses need replacing. Sleeping six comfortably was hard, so we moved the mattresses down and slept on the floor. The loft is fine, but without a fan it’s impossible to sleep up there, and there are no electrical outlets upstairs. The best part is the setting, with views of the Júcar River and the surrounding mountains. The small pool is nice for cooling off, and using the barbecue was fun. It’s well placed for visiting Alcalá del Júcar, La Rocha, Casas Ibáñez, and other places. There’s a very good traditional bar in the main square, but nowhere to buy anything. We’ll come back when the weather is colder. It’s okay as long as you’re not too fussy.
