Hotel Madanis

Room service was unacceptable. They never changed the sheets or covers, and a staff member knocked and came in while my family was resting, without permission, insisting on cleaning right then. I politely asked her to return in an hour, then suggested 20 minutes later, but she refused both times. It left me wondering whether I was a paying guest or expected to fit around their demands. The room was also missing basic things, and the hotel charged extra for everything. There was no kettle, and reception said hot water would cost money. Drinks in the minibar were in the fridge without a clear notice that they were chargeable. I only found a small note hidden inside the fridge door later. When I asked for a spoon and bowl for my son's milk, I was told, "You booked the room, not other things." Reception couldn't show me this supposed policy. They never changed the bed sheets and covers. There are hidden notes around the room, including under the bed, in the bathroom, and in the fridge, which later seem to serve as reasons to charge guests. It felt like they were waiting for people to make a mistake and add costs. I trusted some online reviews, but regret it. This is nowhere near a 4-star hotel, maybe 1 or 2 at most. It hides behind "policy" instead of providing basic service, and the rating it claims doesn't seem deserved. Bring even basic things like a kettle from home, and be careful before booking. I wouldn't expect hospitality, just extra charges and disrespectful service.

There's very little choice of food, and the restaurant has only a few tables for 30 rooms. I've never stayed in a hotel where you have to pick a 30-minute breakfast slot.

Breakfast cost €10 per person and was very poor. We also had no running water in the bathroom, so we couldn't shower. Staff said it would be fixed within an hour, but it wasn't, and they offered us nothing for the inconvenience. This isn't a 4-star hotel. Only book if you want the bare basics. Two stars at best.

The service was good and the room was okayish, but it didn't feel like a 4-star hotel. The lift was out of order, and getting around with our 18-month-old and the stroller was tough.
