The village has what you need, including restaurants, a supermarket and health food. The mountains are within walking distance for getting outdoors, and the hotel itself is a good base for either a short break or a longer holiday. There’s a clean pool, a restaurant on site, and the staff are extremely friendly. It’s a lovely, relaxing location.

The room was huge, and breakfast had plenty to choose from. The staff were friendly, though they don’t speak English. It’s a handy place to stay north of Madrid, about 15 minutes’ drive from Buitrago de Lozoya and an hour from Segovia. The noise insulation, interior, mattresses and Wi-Fi all need improvement.

There’s no air conditioning, and for what I paid, the room could have been better equipped. The upstairs bedroom layout, with a separate room reached by stairs, isn’t very user friendly. Those stairs can be a bit dangerous in the dark.

It’s in a nice spot, but felt overpriced for such a basic setup. The microwave and grill weren’t working, and there wasn’t a bread knife or a corkscrew.
