A cockroach greeted me as soon as I entered the room, which was quite something when traveling alone. The room was nothing like the listing photos, which looked old or perhaps showed the one decent room. Mine felt worse than an old prison cell. The bed and pillow were awful, and I couldn't get any rest. Damp was everywhere in the rooms and shared spaces. Paint was peeling, and wallpaper used to cover other damaged spots was coming loose too. The cistern was broken, the shower curtain filthy, the shower disgusting, and there were holes in the walls. Electrical sockets were hanging out, and the toilet paper roll left for me had already been used. The window frames were broken, with foam insulation exposed. This was the worst accommodation I've ever stayed in, and a truly awful experience.

Sorry doesn't help much when you're left out on the street at 10 pm. Our room was cancelled just 15 minutes before check-in, and the whole thing was a disaster. An establishment should be ready for things to go wrong and offer a solution or another option instead of abandoning its customers.

Every time I've stayed here, I've felt at home. It's welcoming, and I still feel that way whenever I come back.

We were freezing in Valladolid's October cold with just one blanket and a little heater. The bedside lamp didn't work either. When we got to the room, there was a strong damp smell, and there weren't even any towels for our shower. The shower itself was tiny, with only part of a curtain, so water got out. Everything felt old and neglected. The price was high for what we found. We wouldn't recommend it or come back.
