Hostal Carbonara

The hostel is right in the middle of the area tourists are likely to visit, just a five-minute walk from the seafront, with loads of tapas bars and restaurants nearby. We had a double room with a private bathroom and were very satisfied. It was clean, well maintained and in good condition, with a large comfortable bed and big fluffy towels. The staff were excellent, very informative and helpful. We liked having a small kitchen where we could make meals, as we've been travelling for several months on a tight budget. One thing that would help is having fans available. Galicia is Spain's coolest region, so this probably won't matter to most people, but my wife and I are sensitive to temperature and found it too hot in June. We had to sleep with the windows open, and with no insect screens we ended up covering ourselves in mosquito repellent.

The hostel was clean, with a bed and shower, and it's in a good area near the main street, about 7-10 min from the beach. Our receptionist was lovely and tried to help with every question, even though her English wasn't very good. I didn't like having a room without an outdoor window, though apparently that's common here in Corunna.

A good low-budget option. The location is perfect, prices are low and the staff are very friendly. The rooms have no aircon and no view, and if you open the window you can hear other guests snoring.

Great location, and the staff are very nice and helpful. They have an arrangement with the Orzan-Riazor parking lot, so you get a discount at this private car park. Highly recommend!
