A Coruna is a lovely place to visit, and the location gets my one star. But if you want to enjoy your trip, don't sleep at this hotel. We had booked four nights through booking.com because the reviews looked decent, but left after seeing our room. The walls and ceiling were covered in mould, and the blankets and pillows felt damp. It was disgusting, and I don't understand how they can rent a room in that condition. At reception, after we explained the problem, the first response was, “yeah we do not have another room.” No apology, and nobody came to inspect it. When I said we were leaving and returned the keys because it was impossible and unhealthy to stay there, suddenly another room became available. By then, we didn't want to stay. They refused a refund or any other solution, let alone apologizing. I'm really disappointed with how they handled it. If they stick to not repaying us, I hope they use the money to fix the hotel.

The beds were comfy, and housekeeping was absolutely impeccable. Everyone at reception was kind, too. The location is unbeatable, very close to the beach and the best tapas bars. We were grateful for our stay and strongly recommend it.
8/10
Great location, good price, and the people here were very helpful. The room wasn't soundproof, though. I could hear people flushing the toilet and opening doors.
10/10
The room was comfortable and had a nice hot shower, and the staff were attentive and very helpful. I needed somewhere in A Coruna after deciding to visit the medieval festival (Fiestas del Apóstol Santiago, St James) post El Camino Frances 25. Hotel Santa Catalina was a reasonable price for that time.

I arrived in the city after they had closed reception at 3pm and had nowhere to stay. Nobody had told me about the early closure when I booked. They then refused to refund me because I hadn't called the emergency number. I'm a tourist without a Spanish number, so I couldn't do that. These people are thieves and completely unprofessional. Steer clear.
