Apart from the tiny bathroom, it was great. A very nice stay.
For a hostel, getting the room cleaned and the bed made every day was a nice touch. The service and friendliness were a full 10 out of 10. The air conditioning worked well, thankfully, though the room and bed were only average, maybe even poor. Bathrooms could use a lot of improvement, as others have said, and there was an unpleasant tobacco smell in both the room and shared areas that I still don't understand. Still, it's reasonably priced and does the basics well if you just need somewhere to sleep, shower in the morning, and have breakfast without fuss.
The location was great, the beds were comfortable, and the rooms were clean. We especially appreciated the friendly welcome. For a one-star hotel, the service, warm hospitality, delicious homemade breakfasts, and excellent dinners earn it five stars from me. Good value too. Outstanding, we'll be back.
The food was tasty and good, but it cost extra and came with no extras. Everything else was awful. The exterior already tells you plenty, with its “For Sale Due to Retirement” sign. The place was unprofessional, the internet had problems, and paying by card was bizarre: they tried to communicate by sticking an arm out of the window, then charged me a card usage fee. If you enjoy a bit of intrigue, this motel is for you. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy. Not recommended!!
Clean, quiet, and simple, rather like a boarding house, with courteous staff. It's fine for a single night, but I wouldn't want to stay longer. You can't ask for more, and it doesn't pretend to offer more.
