Casa Emblemática Casa del Cuartel

We spent a month here on holiday while working remotely, and leaving was hard. La Oliva is one of the prettiest little villages on the island, with a lovely church square and wide mountain views. For sunset, Molinos de Villaverde is especially worth a visit; if you're up for a more adventurous outing, Playa de Jarugo is down a bumpy road. There's also a great craft and interior design shop at the bottom of the street that I recommend stopping by. The property has four apartments, and we stayed in the biggest, most recently renovated one. It was beautifully designed, spotless, and had a well-equipped kitchen. Jorge was a wonderful host, always reachable on What's App and ready to help. They'd recently installed fibre optic Wifi, so remote work was practical even for bandwidth-heavy Zoom calls, both inside and outside the house.

We only had three nights at Casa del Cuartel and wished we'd booked longer. Jorge welcomed us warmly and was so helpful; there was wine waiting for us in the courtyard. It's a beautiful old rural house, decorated with a lot of care, and definitely our favourite place to stay.

The house was really comfortable, and the atmosphere was lovely. We got the peace and quiet we were hoping for.
