Line up Kite & Surf Camp

The place itself is nice, with pleasant shared areas, but it feels a bit soulless and there wasn’t much contact. Inside it’s very basic, with old towels and a broken shower. The surf lessons, though, were absolutely brilliant. Pepé was a fantastic instructor: clear, funny, patient and very focused on safety. I highly recommend taking lessons with him.

Worst Surf Camp. They don’t even deserve one star. Don’t trust the positive reviews. My partner and I went in February. On day one, the instructor refused to take us because my boyfriend doesn’t speak English very well. I’d specifically messaged to ask for an intermediate lesson, but was put with beginners instead. The manager said he wouldn’t call another instructor for just two people. So I was left alone in the water, with no supervision or advice, in a crowded area where instructors from other schools were doing a great job guiding their students on the waves. The accommodation was no better: the window wouldn’t even shut, and there was no staff on site to talk to. Their policy is misleading too. They claim to refund 50% on windy days, but that isn’t true.

The camp was a peaceful, quiet place, about a 10-minute walk from LineUp surf school and 15-20 minutes from Corallejo’s main commercial street. Before we arrived, we got clear instructions for entering the camp and information about the rules. My friend and I shared a room with very comfortable beds and a huge bathroom that seemed newly renovated. There was always hot water. The kitchen was large and fully equipped, and basic shared supplies like olive oil, sugar, coffee, salt and pepper were there, so no need to buy them. The oven could use a deep clean, though it still made the best pizza 😁. We enjoyed coffee, snacks and the company of other residents at the big dining table and in the cozy living room. There were lots of outdoor spots to relax and enjoy the island’s atmosphere. My stay at LineUp surf camp was unforgettable, and I’d definitely recommend it!

We spent a week at the camp and found it friendly, clean and full of good vibes. There were shared kitchens and bathrooms, sweet rooms, and activities like yoga, massages and excursions. It was our first time with Line up Kite and surf. We booked five kitesurf sessions. First, we refreshed our kite control on the beach so they could assess our level, and the tips were really useful for the boat sessions. For those, you leave the coast and head out to the ocean, with space to practise. There were two or three instructors for five students. The instructors were great, especially Kris, the best we’ve ever had: kind, relaxed, very professional, an amazing teacher and super, super funny! Just so you know, I didn’t write a good review for the free T-shirt ;)
