Els Prats Village Beach & Camping Park

I’d love to bring my granddaughter for six weeks over the school holidays next July and August. The main weeks may be out of our budget, but I’ll definitely ask for a seafront pitch. The sun and breeze together there sound lovely, and that’s the one thing I really want. The place is spotless, so clean you couldn’t do a better job yourself. It’s also beautifully managed, with welcoming staff. I do wish there were more entertainment at the bar and pool to bring people together and make the atmosphere livelier. There are decent facilities at this large campsite, and it wasn’t especially expensive. But the beach beside the site has disappeared because of changes in the current, and it seems the quality has slipped since the change of owners last year. The toilets were full for two days, and the towel machine stayed open the whole time we were there. They could make a stay here more comfortable.

The beach is small and nearly vanishes at high tide, though it’s pleasant to walk alongside. The pitches are a good size and reasonably priced, and they’re all close to the sea. There are lots of facilities, and everything was very clean. A great campsite.

The pitches were a bit uneven, so bring two sets of chocks. Otherwise, we had a very enjoyable stay. The campsite was nice and clean. It’s a little far from San Sebastian, but there’s a bus stop almost right outside, and the ride into the city takes 20 minutes.
