At Hostal Fontdevila in Boí, the friendly, approachable service made our stay very pleasant. The hostel was clean, the rooms were fine, and there’s private open parking right across the street, which was handy. Good value for money, and I’d recommend it.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and decent enough, and the hostel is well located. But the place feels very neglected, like a trip back to the 60s. One window wouldn’t close, and a blind was stuck at the top and couldn’t be lowered. That might be manageable in summer, but in winter it would be a problem. Dinner was disappointing for a 17 euro menu. The frozen croquettes were still frozen when served, so cold and hard they couldn’t be eaten. The chicken curry was decent. The homemade pudding wasn’t good, though the crema catalana was better. In the morning there was no hot water for a shower. I had to call reception, and apparently the heater hadn’t been switched on. It all felt very unprofessional.
