Hostal Caracas

After a long day, this was a wonderful place to rest on the Camino, with the trailhead close by for an easy start the next morning. My sister and I, both adults, got lost after we couldn't find any more conchas. We were getting dehydrated and unsure of the way when the angel lady, maybe Pilar whose name I saw in another review, came to collect us. I really appreciate how kind she was. She also explained where to find what we needed nearby and gave us a paper map. The room and kitchen area were spotlessly clean, and the kitchen had all the equipment we needed. The beds were super comfy, with extra blankets available, though at 30°c on our camino we didn't need them. The TV worked and showed local channels, which we really liked. The bathroom was perfect, with plenty of towels and a hairdryer. If I'm ever in Lalin again, I'd definitely stay here and recommend it to other people on the Camino. Thank you! 💖

We had a late-night flight and the manager/owner waited for us, even though we didn't check in until 1.30am. It was no problem for her, and the service was very good.

We were cold all night, and I woke up feeling awful after walking in the rain the day before. This place has no heating left on for guests. When I asked for warmth, the owner turned it on for just half an hour. I asked again, and she said she'd turn it on at 7pm, but it only ran for 30 minutes before she switched it off. I got a terrible cold by morning. I don't think this is suitable accommodation for pilgrims. I paid 40 euros to go to the hotel, but after this stay, an Alberge felt like heaven. The owner's kindness was the only good thing, but she never leaves the heater on. 😅 The room cost 42 euros, and you gave us a 2 euro discount, so we're giving 2 stars.

The room itself was fine for the most part, but some rooms are divided off from direct outside light and views. I'd try to avoid those, they feel claustrophobic, a bit like a prison room.
