Oyo Hotel España

We found a last-minute deal on booking.com for one night. The decor is fabulous, and the room was a good size and comfortable. There were free drinks in the minibar too. The front terrace is wonderfully relaxed, with properly cool music playing, and breakfast was marvellous.

We stopped for dinner on Sunday and the service was attentive. The staff really know what they’re doing. The steak with peppercorn sauce was huge and expertly cooked. My husband tried a bit of bread and tomato from my plate, then struggled to finish his steak 🤣🤣. I also had an excellent tomato salad, since I’m a real tomato fiend, and gambas pil pil. Five stars. We’ll be back in a few days.

We ate at the restaurant but didn’t stay at the hotel. The pasta was delicious, and my husband’s grilled chicken breast was very good too. We finished with glasses of Ponche Caballero.

The food was a little below average, though the prices were really low, and the restaurant was otherwise fine. Lanjarón is a tiny village near Sierra Nevada, with lovely mountains and amazing scenery. Just don’t expect busy, frenetic nightlife there.
