HiTide Hostel

The staff were sociable and inclusive, and made everyone feel at home. Bathrooms and rooms were cleaned daily, so cleanliness was clearly a priority. The hostel is right by the sea, with the services you need close by. I had a truly wonderful stay, and the place makes it easy to enjoy your time on the island.

There’s always something going on, and Eric is great at pointing you in the right direction. He’s helpful and seems to know what’s happening, which is a big part of what makes this hostel so good. It’s right on the beach and has a lovely roof terrace. The rooms are roomy, with comfortable beds that don’t squeak or wobble when someone gets in. The staff are all really nice and helpful.

The common rooms were lovely for relaxing or meeting other travelers, and the bedrooms had plenty of space. The hostel was always clean, which matters a lot to me. There’s lots to do nearby, from surfing, yoga and shopping to hostel activities and, of course, time on the beach. I had such a great stay. It’s right in the middle of Las Canteras, with gorgeous sunset views and a friendly atmosphere. Great people were always coming through, and all the staff were kind and helpful. Thanks to the staff and guests for making it unforgettable!

The bathroom and kitchen were very clean, and the staff were all super friendly. They were kind when I raised the issue and gave me a full refund. Still, the hostel has a bed bug problem, as do many others in the area. With young volunteers running the place, there’s only so much they can do to prevent it. I hadn’t seen any reviews here mentioning bed bugs, and I wish I had before booking, so I’m sharing this in case it helps someone else decide. The location and price are great, and it’s a charming place if you’re willing to accept that risk for the view and low cost. I guess the laid-back atmosphere can come with a risk of an infestation. Sorry, guys!
