Hostel Gran Canaria

The dorm and the overall construction are great. But I wouldn’t recommend this hostel because it’s too far from the city center. A round trip into town can take more than 40 minutes, and bus service is limited in some situations.

Fernando and his team really made this place for me. The hostel is lovely and quiet, with a well-equipped kitchen, and it was the cleanest place I've ever stayed.

The cleanliness deserves another mention: this is a really clean, good hostel. Still, it may not suit everyone. During our March trip it was empty for a couple of days, while on several others a mechanic school group of 25 teenagers aged 16-17 filled it up, so solo travelers hoping to meet people might be disappointed. Our room also had a window above the door with no curtain, and the bright hallway lights stayed on all the time, which made sleeping difficult.

Korneel was so welcoming and helpful, with suggestions for places to visit and advice on using transport. You can tell he puts a lot of care into everything. The stay felt almost like a hotel: the rooms each have their own bathroom, and breakfast and towels are included. Everything was neat and clean, there was a lock already fitted to the locker, and the price for what you get is amazing. I can't recommend it enough.
