Le Petit Lion is just 200 mts from the cathedral of Leon, in the old city, 5 minutes walk from the bars of "barrio húmedo". Only 1 minut is Plaza Mayor. The auditorium of Leon and the train station both are 15 minutes walking. Their rooms are decorated in bright colors and are equipped with air conditioning, underfloor heating, minibar, safe and private bathroom with shower and hairdryer. It has a restaurant tasting, breakfast room, rooms with large terraces, and excellent soundproofing. There is parking on site, for ¬ 2.80 a day.

The location was great, and the staff were kind and helpful, pointing out good places in Leon. The rooms looked nice, were clean, and had soap and towels. But ours felt like it was barely holding together. The shower door wouldn’t slide properly, the shower head wouldn’t stay on the wall, and the bed lights hung loose like dead leaves. A bit of maintenance could easily fix these issues, which made the condition all the more disappointing. We were there on a Saturday, and loud, drunk people stayed out in the street until very late, making it hard to sleep. They do provide earplugs. Our stay wasn’t pleasant.

In the heart of Leon, with clean, simple but functional rooms and a great bar and pub offering a wide variety of tapas and drinks. It’s very urban and trendy, ideal for young people. If you’re driving, plan your arrival, since finding the place by car can be confusing.

The reception was great, and my room was nice and clean. It’s in a busy area of Leon, just a few steps from the Cathedral, Plaza Mayor, and Plaza de San Martin.

We were looking forward to a romantic getaway in León, but started itching as soon as we entered the room. We flipped the mattress and found bedbugs. The rest of the night went on washing all our things and searching for a hotel without bugs. Terrible experience. :(
