NH Collection León Plaza Mayor

The location is a dream, right on Plaza Mayor and just steps from the cathedral, sights, shops and restaurants. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the Plaza Mayor Mercadillo/Farmers' Market is right outside, and it’s amazing. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable and quiet, with good breakfast and restaurant food. Service was friendly and attentive. Getting there by car and finding reception can be tricky because the signs are sparse. There’s a garage behind the hotel/plaza: park there, then take the elevator nearest the drive-in gate up to Plaza Mayor. The hotel entrance is just to your right. A couple of things need attention. There’s no way to shower without soaking the bathroom floor, even though the shower has strong pressure and gets plenty hot. I also found dust on the nightstand and tables later, despite the room looking immaculate overall. The bed is a very firm, comfortable spring mattress, not memory foam. There’s air conditioning, and rooms facing the plaza have balcony doors, interior shutters and blackout curtains. They make the room very dark for sleeping and block most plaza noise from the tabernas and cafes. There are a few minor issues, but it’s a fine hotel and I’d gladly stay again when I’m in the area.

The breakfast buffet was outstanding and worth the 18 euro per person. Our room was well equipped, with a stocked minibar and welcome treats for us and our dog. The staff were consistently cheerful and welcoming, and the hotel is in a fantastic location with excellent parking. Another great NH experience in León. Bravo, NH team!

Friendly, helpful staff and wonderful service, in a great location. A perfect place to start our Camino Pilgrimage this spring.

The gentleman at reception was very friendly, and the hotel is in a nice location. But the room smelled odd when we walked in, and the cleanliness was very disappointing. As the pictures show, there was thick dust on every surface. The sink had hair and toothpaste residue, and the sheets on one side of the bed weren’t clean. For a four-star hotel, the hygiene definitely didn’t meet the standard.
