The clean rooms had a nice view, and the grounds were lovely, with a backyard pool and an area for kids. The facilities were beautiful and the hotel went beyond what I expected. Reception was very helpful: they gave us a free late checkout and even sent us off with a few bottles of water.

Breakfast costs extra, but at a modest 12euros per person it’s good quality, with plenty of choice, and worth it. The hotel has no restaurant, though there are lots of places to eat within a few hundred metres. It’s a short walk into the centre of Llivia, yet sits in a very quiet, mostly residential area. Inside, the décor is modern, while outside there’s plenty of rustic charm. The garden, terraces, patio, and pool area are immaculate. It’s an excellent independent, family-run hotel; although it’s rated 3*, we’d easily give it 4*.

The courtyard has clearly been furnished with a lot of care, and the common areas are nicely appointed. Beds are comfy, and the rooms are comfortable too. It’s a quiet little place where it’s easy to relax and get away from everything, at least from spring through autumn. Winter could be different. We found it hard not to love the place.

Breakfast was a great buffet, though sadly there were no eggs. It’s a lovely place to stay, but in high season there might not be enough parking. The road around the hotel is pretty harsh.
