Hotel Caleta

The staff were warm and friendly, and they can store your luggage, though the storage is in a damp cellar and is really only suitable for a few hours. There's also a shower you can use before you leave. The hotel is just two minutes from the beach, which made it a good option for my one-night stay. I wouldn't choose it for more than a weekend. It's an old building, and it feels more like a hostel with private bathrooms. You're mainly paying for the location. The facilities could use investment, but everything was clean, so that's only a partial complaint. The room photos didn't match what we got: we'd booked expecting a balcony, but apparently that costs extra, which was disappointing. One thing to know: hotels aren't allowed by law to scan or photocopy IDs, but this one did. I didn't mind personally, though you're allowed to refuse.

The location is really convenient, near the beach, a great supermarket and lots of restaurants and shops. You're close to bars, clubs and other activities, but not right in the middle of them, so it's a bit quieter. The walls are a little thin, though, and loud neighbours can be heard. The interior is a bit old, probably renovated in the 90s or early 2000s, but it's very clean and well maintained. The staff are so friendly and approachable, and the service is lovely. Great value for the price!

The balcony or terrace was a lovely extra in some rooms. Inside, everything was neat and very clean, with a good shower, soft towels, and air conditioning that worked really well.

The staff were really nice, and the place was very clean. For around €300 for six nights on the Costa Brava, the price was great, and the beach is less than a two-minute walk away. The bathrooms were too small, especially the tiny sink. The walls were so thin I could hear the alarm in the room above as if it were on my nightstand. Breakfast was the same every morning.
