Hotel Golden Sand

The buffet breakfast was the one good thing, though it’s easy to overdo it. Otherwise, for a 3 star hotel, this place is the pits. The room was falling apart, with a wobbly toilet and very hard beds. Why put 3 singles in one room? There were gaps in the lobby door that you could see through, and the balcony was crumbling. The TV had no remote, and although there was air conditioning, there was no control.

The best thing is the short walk to the main bars, nightclubs and beach. Rooms are cleaned every day and fresh towels are left, but they’re less than basic and badly need updating. The place needs modernising. Walls are paper thin, so you hear every noise from the surrounding apartments. The pool area is dreadful, and the rooftop sitting area is tatty, with broken chairs and sun loungers.

The location is good, within walking distance of the beach, but it’s an old hotel and things in the rooms are falling apart. There’s a tiny swimming pool and an okayish buffet breakfast. I’d only book it on a very tight budget, if you plan to spend more time outside than at the hotel.

The restaurant food was quite nice. The room was kind of dirty, though honestly I expected it to be much worse after reading so many reviews. There was no chair, hairdryer or TV remote. The TV was so small and far from the bed that you’d need a telescope to see anything. The walls are literally paper thin, so don’t expect quiet, people are loud here. If you only need a place to sleep, it’s okay. Otherwise, run as fast as you can from this place. :)
