Kira I.
We lost around €160 in cash, plus about £2,000-£3,000 worth of clothes, jewellery, and sentimental belongings. With a flight to catch, we had to leave for the airport with only our beach towels and hand luggage. We'd genuinely enjoyed the holiday before this incident, but the dismissive response from staff and management afterwards left us feeling unsupported, as though the whole thing was being brushed aside instead of properly investigated. Based on what happened, we wouldn't stay here again or recommend leaving valuables in the hotel's luggage storage. After checking out at around 11am, the hotel let us store our bags in its supposedly locked luggage room while we waited for our airport transfer by the pool. About two hours later, we found that both our medium/large suitcases had been stolen. Staff denied it and repeatedly said it was impossible because the room was supposedly locked whenever guests entered or left. There were CCTV cameras clearly covering the luggage room and lobby, but staff were very reluctant to review the footage or let anyone else see it. The hotel didn't encourage us to contact the police, saying they would deal with it themselves. In several later phone calls, staff kept suggesting our friends must be playing a prank, even though we were travelling alone as a couple, hadn't socialised with anyone on holiday, and knew nobody at the hotel. Jet2 later told us their representative was also denied access to the CCTV unless police requested it. As far as we know, the hotel never contacted the police themselves or took any meaningful action while we were there. The location was good, and we had no major problems until checkout day.
