Vintage Hotel Mercedes

The people were friendly and helpful, and the hotel felt quiet and familiar, not too big. It’s near everything, with a nice walk to the beach and shops, and the price was very good. I really liked staying here and hope to visit again. Breakfast could have included a little more fresh salad, like tomatoes.

We were four friends staying for a week at the Mercedes hotel in lloret de mar, and it was nothing like we expected. The rooms were clean and did the job, but they were really old. The hotel’s website says the whole place should be completely renovated, and honestly I didn’t see anything that looked renovated. The pool area also looked very different from the beautiful website photos. It was old, rusty, and uncomfortable to spend time in. The service was seriously the worst I’ve experienced in a hotel, apart from the reception staff. The others seemed incompetent, unfriendly, especially toward all-inclusive guests who had to eat in separate, ugly rooms, and completely unmotivated. The buffet was okay but not good quality. At least the cucumber and other vegetables were fresh. Hot food like fries was cold and unpleasant to eat. Our stay was really disappointing, the opposite of what we expected. Please change the whole thing. Sincerely, four unlucky hotel guests.

The beach is about a twenty-minute walk, not seven, and it’s very stony, so it wasn’t suitable for small children to walk on. This place definitely isn’t for little kids. We paid for half board but had to eat out every night because the food was cold and disgusting. The pool was dirty, and we’d never stay here again. We also paid to upgrade to a luxury room, only to be told there was no such thing. There was some kind of heater on the balcony blowing out hot air, which felt too dangerous around small children, so we couldn’t use the balcony.

The food was great, with lots of tasty choices: pasta with different sauces, fish, chicken, pork, beef and turkey, salads, cakes, ice cream, and fruit. The hotel is old and has grown up, and the rooms are old too, but they’re clean. In fact, the whole hotel was very clean, with the chambermaids cleaning every corner, even the armrests and lift doors. We had an issue with the hot water on our first day. The receptionist gave us the safe keys and an extra lounge for free, a nice gesture. The staff were kind and polite, always smiling.
