Hotel Selva Arenal

Breakfast had lots of fresh, tasty options, and our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hotel had a warm, welcoming feel that made the stay even better. The staff were incredibly friendly and always greeted us with a smile, especially at reception, where they helped with everything we needed. I had a wonderful time and would definitely come back. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We got a clean room and early check-in, and the price was great for what we got. If your room isn’t ready, the front desk can store your luggage, which is handy. We visited in November, so lots of the shops were closed for the off-season and the area was quiet all the time. It’s a 10-minute walk to the beach, close to a bus stop with a direct route to Palma, and within walking distance of the cliffs by the water, where the views are amazing.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It’s about 30 minutes by bus to Palma city, and around 20 minutes from the airport. There’s also a free shuttle to the beach, and they lend out beach towels for a €10 deposit. The prices are excellent, much cheaper than other hotels. Breakfast was great and had something for every taste. The room was simple and clean, but comfortable. There weren’t any bathroom amenities, just toilet paper.

We had a child with us and, at 10 p.m., asked to cancel and leave because the room was unsafe and filthy. We were ignored and treated rudely for an hour and a half, so we had to call the police. Only after they intervened did the hotel agree in writing to cancel our stay at no charge and tell us to find another hotel. With police helping us, we finally moved somewhere suitable at 11:30 p.m. At check-in we were shocked by how dirty the room was. There were cockroaches, ants, and bugs all over the floor, beds, and bathroom, and the balcony door was broken. We reported it straight away and showed photos, but reception and the owner were rude and unprofessional. The whole thing was stressful and felt unsafe. Completely unacceptable. Avoid this hotel at all costs.
