Hotel Kilimanjaro

We had to leave early for our own safety and pay extra to book somewhere else. I stayed one night at Hotel Kilimanjaro in October 2025, and it was one of the most shocking hotel experiences I’ve had. In room 401, there was an overwhelming musty smell and visible black mould growing around the air-conditioning vent. The air felt damp and unhealthy. We asked to move and were shown rooms 205 and 110. Both smelled strongly of damp and had water damage, and one had more visible mould by the air duct. This was especially worrying because one friend has asthma and another has a chronic cough. We told staff immediately and were told to speak with the general manager in the morning about a refund. When we went back, the day receptionist was dismissive, said the manager wasn’t available, and offered no help. We still haven’t had a reply from the hotel. I strongly urge people to avoid this hotel until it addresses the mould and the lack of accountability. No guest should have to go through this.

The rooms were basic but clean and big, and the hotel is surrounded by shops. It took around 10 minutes to walk to the beach. Staff were friendly, the pool was a nice size with loungers, and the bar area felt relaxed. The morning buffet was very average.

The pools look great, and the waterfall is really relaxing. I liked that there was no music in the morning, just the sound of the waterfall calming my thoughts. Breakfast was great, and the room was clean and okay, with a really comfy mattress and air conditioning that worked fine. But there was no fridge. How am I meant to keep cola0 and water cold? For 100 euros for one night at a *** hotel, I expected a small fridge. The bathroom door couldn’t be closed. The toilet was marked disinfected, but had a small hair and a few little stains on the seat. Wifi had lag spikes and signal interruptions. They really need a modern wifi mesh system or a better internet contract.

Tolo, the hotel manager, enthusiastically helped me arrange a surprise for my friends, who were already staying at Hotel Killimanjaro. I came a day later, and with his help the surprise worked out. We had a great stay. Our room was very spacious, with 2 balconies, and the pool is big. The location was perfect, within walking distance of the strip and beach.
