Hospedería de Loarre

After visiting the castle, we had a remarkably good lunch on the shaded patio. The dishes were so good we couldn't believe the quality in such a small town. The service was excellent too. I'd highly recommend the restaurant.

There aren't many places to choose from in the village, which makes the price harder to avoid. The facilities didn't justify the cost for me, and having to book two nights because of the bus timetable made the stay even more expensive.

We were heading to Loarre Castle and arrived quite late, but they kindly found us a table even though we weren't staying at the guesthouse. The staff were attentive and friendly. Our food was delicious, plentiful, and beautifully presented.

The café experience was awful. A bottle of Kas cost €5, and a mixed drink was €6. The waitress didn't know how to make it, and we had to explain how to pour it. When my partner heard the prices, he went in and asked her if she was the boss. She said she was a partner. I asked why the bottle cost more than the mixed drink, and all she said was, "We'll see." On top of that, the kitchen was closed at 10 p.m. on a Saturday, while the café was packed. Ridiculous, and no further explanation needed. It was a terrible experience, absolutely awful. We won't come back or recommend it. The bar at the campsite is much better.
