The breakfast buffet had a generous spread of fruit, pastries, cold meats, toast and coffee, and the room was large and nicely decorated. I stayed one night at Sercotel Portales while walking the Camino de Santiago in September 2025. I arrived at 1100 hours, before check-in at 1400 hours, but the kind receptionist stored my suitcase so I could explore Logroño City centre. The hotel has a lovely modern design near the city centre. I’d stay again when I’m back in Logroño. For your information, my Camino travel partners @magichillholidays are located in Ireland.

They kindly provided a bed and bowls for our pet, and the woman at reception was welcoming and friendly. The location is good, the rooms are clean, and the bathrooms are relatively modern. But the rooms are very basic, our beds weren’t comfortable, and we looked out at a grey wall. Dining with a pet was tricky. Most restaurants in Logroño don’t accept pets, and after searching for a long time we found a great one, la tavina. The hotel also doesn’t let you leave your pet in the room, which really limits dinner choices. It would help future guests if the hotel kept a list of pet-friendly places to eat.

We showed up at 11am just to leave our bags before check-in. Reception was super friendly and said we could use the toilet, or call a taxi if we needed one. The bedroom was excellent and bigger than the 4star room I’d stayed in the night before. Excellent hotel.

A good, clean hotel in a convenient location. I stayed a day to adjust to the timezone after coming from the USA, before continuing my Camino.

The front desk person was very kind and carefully explained how to board the bus transfer to my son’s tournament venue. I was grateful for the help since I couldn’t speak Spanish. The room was clean and comfortable, and staying in the old town made sightseeing and nearby shopping convenient.
