Casa Marrojo

We spent most of our time around the pool, with the barbecue area, four-poster bed and jacuzzi all right there. The cave house has a rustic, old-fashioned feel, and there are lovely little corners all over the property. Kids will have a great time with the cats, peacocks and Japanese chickens. José Antonio was so charming and attentive the whole time. We’ll be back!

The finca is partly underground, with a rustic interior, everything we needed, and a very clean feel. José looks after his guests with real care, and the whole place feels like a little paradise. At the end of October, the whirlpool and sauna were the best parts. You have to heat the sauna yourself, but the fireplace and plenty of dry firewood made that easy. We also loved seeing the two peacocks, some chickens and several little kittens. Hope the other guests feed them well, they always seem hungry 😁

It’s a peaceful, beautifully placed property, and the resident peacocks make it feel even more special. There are barbecue spots around the grounds, and the pool, sauna and whirlpool are all good for relaxing. Inside, there are two double bedrooms and a children’s room with two bunk beds, but only one bathroom and toilet, so six or more people may have to queue. The place was tidy and clean. You can walk to the lovely town in about 20 minutes, though the way back is along an unlit country road if you return late. A car is a good idea.

José Antonio was very attentive, and the animals made the stay feel even more special. The place has lovely views, a wonderful pool, and several inviting spots for meals or a drink. Then there’s the house itself, a carefully built cave with so much care in the details, almost like stepping into another dimension. We loved the jacuzzi overlooking the mountains.
