SANTA ANA - Sol / centro

The Wi-Fi connection was very good, and I appreciated having a fridge. The location is excellent, close to the best metro stations, shops, bars and restaurants. More power sockets in the room would be useful.

There was heavy construction work in the hotel, with drilling and hammering from 8 AM to 7 PM. It was impossible to sleep or stay there. Staff didn't tell us about the work, and we couldn't find anyone at reception. Terrible.

The location right at puerta de sol is perfect, and the room was clean and big enough. But the staff weren't very kind or helpful. I booked by phone and was quoted 50 euros, then the guy changed the story when I arrived and said he'd told me 60 euros. The walls are thin, so you hear everything from the neighbors; ours talked on the phone until very late. The desk socket wasn't in a good spot for working on a computer. The bathtub curtain also doesn't work well, and showering caused a lot of water to spill out.

We were lucky to find somewhere so affordable when everything else was expensive. It's very clean and in a perfect location, with everything you need. The staff are wonderful, and reception can provide a hairdryer or kettle. Ask for a quiet room at the top and at the back.
