We had a clean, roomy room with a balcony and a sea view. The hotel looks really smart after its recent refurbishment, and the staff and service were excellent. The restaurant offered a huge range for every meal. Quality was pretty good considering they serve around 400 people at once. They were accommodating in every way, including letting us keep our bikes in the room. From the hotel garden there’s a great view, and the promenade is a short walk into town.

At dinner on our second night, we were hurried out of the restaurant at 21:40, even though the stated dinner time was until 21:30. I understand respecting opening hours, but the way staff handled it didn’t meet what I’d expect from a hotel at this level. Our first room, 267, was directly above the loading and parking area, with constant, unacceptable noise that affected our rest. We appreciate that we were moved later, but the disruption had already taken a toll on our stay. There was also an uncomfortable situation at the first dinner when we asked for tap water. No one directly refused, but the way it was handled made us feel pressured, so we ended up ordering bottled water. Access to tap water should be straightforward. Some corrective steps were taken, but altogether these issues showed too little attention to basic guest experience, and the stay had already been negatively affected.

Breakfast was a strong point, with a huge fresh buffet on the ground floor and the choice to sit outside looking over the ocean. There were several breads, eggs made fresh, cheeses, cold cuts, sausages, yogurt, granola, and more, plus a fresh orange juice machine and coffee machines around the room. We heard good things about the two or three restaurants on site, though we didn’t try them. There’s also a car rental desk downstairs and a local tour company representative. The hotel sits on a cliff on La Palma’s southwest coast, with beautiful Atlantic views. It’s a large, modern property with roomy public areas, so even when busy it doesn’t feel crowded. The main pool faces the ocean and has greenery and plenty of places to sit. A second, plainer pool is behind the hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a good layout, a large excellent bed, and a big bathroom with a great shower. It also had strong air conditioning, a paid minibar with room for our own water bottles, a safe, a powerful hairdryer, and fast, reliable Wi-Fi. Service was generally excellent, apart from one small housekeeping issue that seemed unusual. Parking beside the hotel costs €11 a day. There’s also roadside parking on the narrow, often full road leading up to it, which can mean a short walk. We paid for the convenience of the on-site parking. Including that, we paid around €175 per night, which felt absolutely worth it for a hotel of this level.

The food was good and the hotel is well located, which were the positives. But the air conditioning had no heating function, and at the end of December our rooms were freezing in the evenings. There weren’t even electric heaters, just extra duvets. I also reported that the shower tray was clogged, and of course it never got fixed. The island is beautiful, but the hotel is a disaster.

It’s a really nice hotel in a great spot right by the beach, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The director, though, clearly doesn’t know how to treat guests. We parked in his space by mistake because there was no sign saying it was reserved. At 11:20 a.m., reception called and told us to move the car immediately. We asked if we could move it first thing in the morning, but he insisted it had to be moved right then. Since we’d paid for parking, that was quite disappointing.
