The only thing I'd complain about is the tap water pressure, and it isn't drinkable. Apart from that, it was a wonderful, relaxing few days in the countryside over Christmas. My girlfriend and I had the whole property to ourselves, with two playful mastiffs and a couple of cats who showed up now and then. The house is beautiful, and they provided as much firewood as we needed, so we never got cold.
We spent a rainy weekend indoors by the fire because there wasn't much chance to go out, but the place was so cozy that we didn't mind. It's a lovely estate surrounded by nature, with every detail carefully looked after. The owner had everything ready for us and was incredibly kind and helpful. A perfect 10/10 stay.
The owner was lovely and always happy to help or suggest things to do nearby, and the animals were adorable. The grounds are beautifully kept, the apartment is spotless, and the bed is really comfortable. Everything is decorated with care, right down to the little details. We'll be back for sure.
You can sometimes expect a visit from three furry friends. The two lofts, one above the other, are very quiet and well equipped, with a fireplace, jacuzzi, and full kitchen. In winter there are coral fleece sheets on the bed, though the fireplace and air conditioning should keep you warm anyway. The developed area looks stunning at night. Great for one couple or two.
We were at La Gitanilla for a full month and felt completely comfortable the whole time. María Jesús was hospitable, the property was peaceful, and the village is close by. It's an easy place to recommend if you're looking to disconnect or need to stay in the area. Simply unbeatable.
