La Estación de Luanco

The location is a real plus: the center, beach, and bars are all close, and the hotel itself is quiet. It’s a family-run place, and the staff were consistently attentive and helpful, from reception to housekeeping and breakfast. Our room was practical and very clean, and the small indoor pool was great for a relaxing dip. I’d stay again, though breakfast needs work. It’s adequate, but for the room price it could offer more: the juice and cake are industrial, there’s little in the way of sweets, and there’s no hot food. In Asturias, some local pastries would be nice. The cold cuts were good. I know a three-star hotel doesn’t have to serve hot food, but it would be appreciated, and I don’t think improving breakfast would cost much. From what I could tell, they don’t seem interested in changing it.

We had a terrible stay and I won’t be back. The room was in bad shape, with a broken door, iron bed frames, and foam mattresses that were extremely uncomfortable. The sheets and pillows were dirty and smelled as if they hadn’t been changed in years. There was also a problem with our reservation, and they did nothing to sort it out. When we arrived, the elevator was out of order, so we had to carry our luggage up to the second floor.

We had a good weekend here from May 1st to 3rd and would come back. It’s a family business run by a lovely couple. The indoor pool was fabulous.

The rooms were pleasant and clean, and reception was very friendly. Breakfast was good, though the choice was limited. The hotel is central enough that you can walk everywhere. There’s no parking, and finding a spot is difficult.
