There’s a pleasant courtyard on the first-floor level where you can sit with a coffee and smoke, and there’s a lift to every floor. The hotel is quiet, and the staff are very friendly. Rooms are clean, though a little small, and come with air-conditioning and complementary toiletries. For the money, it’s great. You’re right in the town center, with cafes, restaurants, shops, and open squares within a 5-10 minute walk. I just missed having a fridge for cold drinks and an electric kettle for a hot drink. With those, I’d have given it five stars.

It was very kind of the owner to get up early and let us out of the building. The hotel felt safe, and the clean rooms had air conditioning, which we needed in the extreme heat. We arrived on a Sunday and struggled to find anywhere to eat before 8. The owner didn’t really know what places were open, so we spent a long time walking around. I would have liked more local knowledge.

Good value and a great location. The rooms are small, but it does what it says on the tin.

The shower head came off while I was showering, and the guy at the front desk wasn’t very friendly.
