Hostel Porton

The best part of this albergue is Libni, its manager. She greets you with a smile, understands what pilgrims need, and is incredibly helpful. She serves tasty food and drinks at the bar, and seems to work around the clock. The bar is stylish and cozy, with a lovely outdoor terrace, so don’t miss it. The place is super clean and nicely renovated, with a well-equipped kitchen, no bunk beds, and enough bathrooms.

The interior is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, with a relaxed, chic feel. We tried the sangria at €5 each, but I found it pricier than other sangria I’ve enjoyed more. Service was a little slow, and there weren’t many tapas to choose from.

I almost didn’t book because I thought the neighborhood might be sketchy, but it wasn’t a problem. This was my favorite albergue on the Camino Primitivo. It’s funky, well run, and there’s a secret door leading straight to a really good bar and restaurant. I loved staying here.

Glad I chose this place for my rest day in Lugo. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. I haven’t seen anything like it in my three Caminos so far. You’d never guess what’s inside.
