Abba Madrid Hotel

I didn't enjoy my stay. The rooms lacked climate control, the bedding wasn't adequate, and the busy street below was constantly loud. Most of all, the front desk staff were incredibly rude. In response to the hotel's reply: that account is mistaken. Nobody asked me not to practice in my room. I practiced respectfully for my whole stay without any incident or complaint. I politely asked whether there might be a larger unused space for practice because my husband was practicing in our room too, also without complaint or issue. That's when the rudeness happened. Please get the facts straight and take responsibility for the poor hospitality and lack of basic politeness. I expect better when I travel.

They took the full payment straight away, even though the booking said there was free cancellation and no prepayment required. Now I'm out more than €400 and have to wait days for the refund. I cancelled on principle. Be careful when booking.

Dinner didn't feel like a proper three-course meal. They served everything so quickly that I nearly got indigestion, more like fast food service. The staff also didn't ask about dietary preferences before putting food in front of each guest. Service was abrupt throughout. They set dishes down without a word or an "excuse me," then took them away without checking whether we were finished. It wasn't an enjoyable meal.

The welcome mojito was a nice surprise. The hotel was elegant and very nice, with friendly service and a delicious breakfast. Cartagena metro station is right next door.
