The location is great for walking, right in the center of everything. The room has a nice amount of space, a handy little kitchen for snacks and drinks, a comfortable bed with good pillows, and a bathroom with nice towels. Check-in was fine. There’s an elevator, but there’s no sign outside the building with the name, despite the sign shown in the website photos. The big issue is the construction project about 30 yards away. Jackhammers and heavy machinery start at 8am and keep going until 5:30 every day. It’s so loud you can hear it with the doors shut or earplugs in, so sleeping past 8am isn’t possible. Resting in the room during the day is unpleasant too. Knowing that, I wouldn’t book here in the foreseeable future.

We stayed four days, and the check-in was extremely easy. The apartment and location were amazing for the two of us, and we’d absolutely come back. Our one comment is that we couldn’t customize the stay or get a late checkout, even though our flight wasn’t until 9 PM.

After 12 hours of travel, we found out we’d been given a nearly windowless attic room in pretty bad shape instead of the studio with a balcony we’d booked and paid for. There’s no one working on site, so we spent almost an hour calling and messaging. They seemed more interested in figuring out how the mistake happened than solving it. We were barely standing by then, so we left and fortunately found somewhere else to stay. Thanks to Hotels.com/Expedia and their wonderful service, we canceled the booking and got a full refund. The elevator was a horror too. I can’t believe this place is rated so highly. It was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.

Madrid is beautiful and safe. I fell in love with it on my first visit. The apartment is well situated, with everything within walking distance, and it was clean. But the shower water didn’t drain well, and the cleaner left an old dish sponge from previous guests. The kitchen sink is so small that washing dishes is awkward. There’s a washing machine, but no detergent. We had some trouble with online check-in. Still, it’s a good hotel apartment overall.

There’s an elevator, but I can’t remember whether there’s a small step at the front door, so I’m not sure if it’s wheelchair friendly. The bar below the apartment plays loud music until 1:30am on Thursdays and weekends. Wednesday wasn’t as noisy.
