The sofa bed was huge, and the room could fit four people, but I found it very hard and not especially comfortable. The sheets and cover were oversized too, so they were awkward to manage. A thicker washable mattress cover under the sheets might make it softer and more hygienic. Street noise can wake a light sleeper, especially when motorcycles go by at night, even though it isn't a very busy street. Turning on the AC helped cover the sound. The apartment has a lovely, charming style, with high ceilings and lots of space. It's a short walk from cafés, restaurants, boutiques, and the metro, and the history museum nearby is worth a quick look. The kitchenette was well equipped, including a dishwasher and a washing machine with soap and clean sponges. There was no hand soap, though, and having small salt packets would be useful for visitors who are only staying a few days.

Sebastian was very helpful at check-in and showed us how to get around the property. The Aspasios team also responded quickly whenever we got in touch. The apartment was nicely decorated and comfortable for my family of five during our two nights in Madrid before returning to the US. I'd stay again and recommend it to other travelers. When we first arrived, we weren't sure we had the right place. The door was black and covered in graffiti, with no apartment name displayed.

The door looked covered in graffiti when we arrived early in the morning, so the first impression was a bit off. Don't let that put you off, though. Inside, it's a beautiful attic apartment and comfortably slept five adults. I pushed the two sofas together and slept fine for all three nights. I'd definitely come back, and I've already recommended it to lots of friends.

The bathroom could use more toilet paper for a group of four, and the shower water tended to back up. Saturday night was noisy too. I assume Aspasios doesn't own the whole building, but loud drunk people coming in woke me in the middle of the night. Apart from that, the noise was reasonable for a city apartment. There were plenty of positives during my three-day stay. The apartment was very clean, and they cleaned the room halfway through. We were welcomed right away and given paperwork explaining our responsibilities as tenants. The location is good, about a 12-minute walk from Parque Retiro. There was a wide choice of dishes and appliances, even though I didn't use most of them, plus Wi-Fi and a free bottle of water that we really needed when we arrived. They also answered our questions promptly.

The accommodation was in a good location and generally fine, though it felt a little worn. A faulty air conditioning unit had apparently been broken for some time, judging by the wooden floor tiles that had lifted. It leaked water and kept us awake on our first night. We reported it, but it wasn't repaired. We did manage to sleep on the nights that followed.
