That said, the doorman was fantastic, warm and welcoming, and genuinely helpful. The location was excellent, which was the main reason I chose the hotel. But after two nights, the stay didn’t quite feel worth the price. For a Hilton collection property, the value gap stood out. The room was almost ‘heroically minimalistic’. Slippers, bath ropes, and cotton cobs/pads weren’t provided in the room, so make sure to ask for the amenities at check-in or expect a few follow-up calls. It wasn’t what I expected from a Hilton collection property.

The room was simple but convenient and comfortable. There was a little road noise, though it didn’t keep me from sleeping. It costs slightly more than other options, but I thought it was well worth it. The staff were amazing. Right when we arrived, the service was spot-on. They paid attention to details, asked if we needed help finding our way or points of interest, and helped us plan day trips. They really wanted us to enjoy our time.

The location is excellent, but beyond that, the experience felt mediocre. We expect service and attention to detail that fit the price, and didn’t get it. Even basic things like slippers or a toothbrush weren’t in the room and had to be requested. They may seem like small details, but at this price they make a real difference. In December, we even had to ask staff to turn on the heating to make the room usable. We travel a lot, with more than 80 overnight stays a year, and based on that experience, this hotel doesn’t offer value for money.

The rooms look recently refurbished, and I loved the bathroom’s rainfall shower. The location was good, and the concierge was very friendly and helpful. The bed wasn’t comfortable, though. We had a night flight and asked for a late checkout, but they refused and offered only one extra hour, which was disappointing.
