Axor Feria

After leg surgery, I booked Hotel Axor Barajas through Expedia because of its good reviews and expected considerate, professional service. Instead, arrival was stressful: staff said my payment hadn't gone through and asked me to pay again, even though I'd already paid. They only gave me the room after I showed proof. I'd also requested wheelchair assistance when booking, but there was no wheelchair or luggage cart. I had to manage my bags while in a lot of pain. The room had visible dust, and the bathroom door wouldn't stay closed, swinging open by itself. For an airport hotel that advertises good standards, the cleanliness and upkeep were unacceptable. There was little organization or attention to detail, and very little consideration for guests with medical needs. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it.

For our one-night stop in Madrid, this was exactly what we needed. Even in a busy city, the room was very quiet, and the bed was comfortable. Check-in was easy, and the location made it simple to continue our journey. We left rested and ready for the next part of our trip.

I ended up here after my flight was cancelled, and the staff were kind and accommodating. The front desk spoke English. Lunch and dinner were airline-paid buffets, served at late times for Americans, 1430 and 2130; breakfast was included from 0700. There's an airport shuttle, and taxis are usually waiting near the entrance. It's a good option for one night near the Madrid airport, but far from the main city.

I wouldn't come back. We booked for three people but found only two beds, so we had to call reception to get the third set up. The receptionist was rude, impolite, and impatient. When we plugged in the kettle it exploded with sparks and cut the power to our room. We called reception, and it took 20 min for someone to come fix the electricity. The fridge wasn't cold at all, and the shower kept changing temperature every 2 seconds without us touching the knob. The worst hotel stay.
