Bajo B was a lovely apartment, just the right size for me, with stylish modern decor and thoughtfully chosen amenities. The building was very nice and clean, and the residential neighborhood made me feel like a local after many visits to Madrid’s touristy Centro. Shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, bars, and cafes are close by, as is an El Corte Ingles. Arguelles Metro is about a six- or seven-minute walk away. Because it’s a basement apartment, there was no natural light through the windows. Madrid was very hot when I visited, around 37-40 degrees, so that lack of sun actually helped keep the place cool. A few problems got in the way of what could have been a great stay. I had trouble getting in because of the app. Housekeeping also forgot towels and kitchen cleaning supplies, including dish soap, a cloth, and a sponge. I had only a couple of hand towels and asked twice for bath towels. The first time, I was told they’d arrive the next morning, but they didn’t, so I had to ask again. At this price, I expected those basics to be there without needing to request them. Be Mate have been very apologetic about the mistakes, though.

Be Mate Blasco de Garay felt more like living in Madrid for a few days than staying in a regular hotel. The apartment was charming, new, and nicely decorated, with details covered, from a microwave and dishes to a washing machine and hair dryer. We had plenty of room, a modern, well-equipped space, a complete kitchen, a comfortable living room, and an excellent bed. Everything was clean and well kept, and the building was peaceful, which made the stay even more pleasant. The Chamberí neighborhood was another plus: charming, safe, and more local, with lots of bars and restaurants that Madrid residents go to. We could walk everywhere without any trouble, and getting to Gran Vía and the city center was easy. A great pick if you want more space and privacy than a traditional hotel while keeping comfort and a good location.

Everything was tidy, clean, and thoughtfully looked after, and we felt very comfortable in the apartment during our October stay. After getting home, I realized I’d left my flip-flops behind. Before I even contacted the Bemate group, they had emailed me to let me know. They were very kind. I’ll definitely come back!

They responded right away whenever we needed something, and the stay was excellent. I’d highly recommend it. I just wish the TV had more choices, either streaming platforms or news and sports channels.

We loved relaxing on the terrace, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The apartment itself is beautiful, and its location makes it easy to get the most out of a Madrid stay.
