Hotel Exe Suites 33

The location was good, but the room we got didn't resemble the photos on booking at all. When we raised it with reception, they offered us an invalid room, and said there was nothing else they could do because the hotel was full. We wanted to leave and book somewhere else, but were told we couldn't get a refund, so we stayed.

We were happy with the stay overall, especially for the reasonable price. The staff at the help desk were welcoming, and they made room for an extra couch bed and a crib. The room was large and had what we needed, although the sheets were too short and the extra couch bed wasn't very comfortable. The location suited our plans well. The main guest elevator was out of service for most of our stay. We arrived less than 30 minutes before check-in, but our room wasn't ready, so we left our many bags in a storage room and checked in that evening.

A basic, functional place with friendly staff. It was clean, and the location is what makes staying here workable. But the walls are paper thin. Our room faced the front street and got loud, so bring earplugs. The air conditioning controls are clunky, and there's no coffee at the hotel.

I could sleep well in an inner room facing the courtyard, since it was very quiet. The hotel is just one street behind Gran Via, so it's peaceful while still putting Madrid's best areas within easy reach. The staff were exceptionally helpful with anything we needed, and the other facilities were great. The bathroom could use a curtain over half the area, since showering leaves water on the floor. This hotel has me wanting to come back to Madrid.
