The location is superb, in a lively part of Masalana, and the design has real potential. The maintenance guy deserves thanks for fixing everything promptly. Still, upkeep and comfort need more attention. The bathroom sink leaked and got all my things wet, the shower drain was blocked when I arrived, and the shower head was nearly falling off the wall. The sink wasn’t secured to the storage unit either, which felt hazardous for my children. Both the kitchen and bathroom are so compact that only one person can use either space at a time. The sofa bed was uncomfortable and looked ready to break. Better quality checks and maintenance would make a big difference and help the place feel enjoyable, not just functional.

The location was faultless, felt safe, and made it easy to walk everywhere. The apartment was very clean, the shower powerful, and the kitchen had everything we needed as a base. Check-in and checkout went smoothly, with no trouble getting access. We didn’t hear much from inside the building because our neighbors were good, though of course that can vary anywhere. Street noise is real. We were on an upper floor and were fine, but it’s a busy neighborhood, especially on weekends, and I can see outside noise being more bothersome in warmer months when people are out and windows are open. The sofa bed wasn’t the most comfortable, but taking the mattress off and putting it on the floor worked easily. The temperature control didn’t work well, and we found the apartment far too hot, so we kept opening windows. That’s personal preference, though. I didn’t find the negative reviews matched my experience. I’d stay again, probably not in the warmer months.

At 3pm we arrived at our booked and paid-for Madrid accommodation, as the confirmation email said we could check in then and included access codes. My wife, six-year-old daughter, and I had traveled for 10 hours. We got through the front door but couldn’t open our room with the codes. I called the support number, got two more codes that failed, called again and got another that also failed. Support then asked me to film myself trying the door and send the video to a WhatsApp number. It was close to 45 minutes after arrival by then. I find that request ridiculous. What if I hadn’t had data or a smartphone? I called again, and they confirmed the video showed we were entering the code correctly. They gave us a code for a different room and told us where to find the linen, since the beds weren’t made. I was furious. We were in a foreign country, had paid for a place to stay, and ended up troubleshooting by video and having to make the beds ourselves in another room. This was unacceptable and unprofessional, and I believe it goes against consumer rights and tourism. I left immediately to find another hotel nearby. I hope sharing this experience prevents another family from going through the same thing.

The unit was quiet, well presented, and the amenities were great. It had a fantastic location for visiting Madrid’s sights, plus a comfortable bed and modern decor. I’d been worried after reading reviews of these apartments, especially since I’d booked the basement unit, but it seems many of the reported problems have been sorted out. I only had a couple of issues: there were no coat hangers, but they replaced them the next day, and the bathroom door had swollen and wouldn’t close. The couch and chair were a bit worn and need reupholstering. Getting my bag down the stairs into the unit was difficult, but otherwise the stay was good.
