The stay was comfortable, clean, quiet, and affordable. It's in Madrid's historic center, handy for parks, the palace, the metro, and lots of bars and restaurants. Some directions for finding the hostel inside the building would help. It's on the fifth floor.

The room was roomy, and having a refrigerator was a real bonus during the hot Madrid summer. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location puts you near everything. Nothing beats a San Miguel siesta.

Friendly staff, and a great spot for the price.

The staff were really nice. The housekeeper patiently showed me several times how to open and lock the door, and warned me she'd be gone by 11 p.m. The place seems newly renovated, but at this price I expected fewer hassles. It's a hostal, I guess, and the room was a very small single. I had no hot water one night, and the walls are paper thin. I think these may be condos converted into hostal rooms. The lock can be confusing: turn it the wrong way and it locks you out, so staff have to let you in. The front desk isn't staffed around the clock, and at night you need security to let you into the building.
